2022 Martin Luther King Read-In Day: Volunteer Registration
The Martin Luther King, Jr. National Holiday and Day of Service promotes Dr. King's ideals of service, equality, and non-violence. We honor his legacy with our 13th Annual Read-In event on Saturday, February 19, 2022 from 11:30 - 1:30 PM.

Children will be placed in a small group with 3-4 “Reading Buddies” (college student volunteers) who will lead them through various virtual activities from the MLK Read In Day Kit. The kits will be distributed the week before the event at various locations and will contain all materials necessary and one age-appropriate book and one new civil rights-themed book! Information for the virtual event will be shared via email.

Volunteering at this event is a wonderful opportunity to mentor and support children in our community and promote the joy of reading and the beauty of diversity.

The program is organized by Winston-Salem State University, Wake Forest University, HandsOn NWNC, and UNC School of the Arts.
