Dear <<First Name>>,

Last week, our office reviewed the schedules of the incoming class. We worked very hard to ensure balanced schedules that took into account your desires and interests as reflected in your self-registration and expressed on the Course Preference Survey. We prioritized your Round I and II selections and your stated preferences (particularly as expressed in letters to advisers in the Course Preference Survey), and we tried to communicate with you about questions or concerns. If you have inquiries about your schedule or any changes that may have been made, please read through these Registration FAQs. You may follow up with our office via phone (336.758.3320) or email (undergraduateadvising@wfu.edu) if needed.

Your fall course schedule is currently available for you to view on WIN. With your schedule in hand, you will be able to order textbooks (textbook ordering instructions) and make other preparations for your classes. While you will continue to have view access to your schedule, you will not be allowed to make any adjustments to your schedule until you meet, individually, with your academic adviser during New Deac Week. This individual advising meeting with your faculty and student adviser will specifically take place on the morning of Friday, August 20th. After meeting with your adviser, you may consider making adjustments to your schedule if you wish.

As a reminder, all of the messages that we send throughout the summer can be found here.

We have a few important announcements to share:

  • Move-In: The Office of Residence Life and Housing, along with many campus partners, are looking forward to welcoming you to your home here at Wake Forest. Check-in will begin just off-campus at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial (LJVM) Coliseum after which you will proceed to campus for move-in. Please be sure to review the information available at go.wfu.edu/movein and keep an eye out for communication from RL&H over the coming weeks.
  • New Deac 101 (Module 1): You are expected to complete Module 1 by Monday, August 16th.  Please visit canvas.wfu.edu and log in with your student credentials; these are the same credentials you use to access WIN and your WFU email.  For more details about New Deac 101, please review the following message in full.
  • AlcoholEdu, Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion online training: On August 1st, you should have received an email from Everfi requesting that you use the three links provided to complete AlcoholEdu, Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion online training.  You are expected to complete Part 1 of AlcoholEDU: Primary, Part 1 of  Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates, and Part 1 of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion by Monday, August 23rd with a passing score of 80%. For questions about these trainings, please contact titleIXcoordinator@wfu.edu. For technical assistance, please use the help function located within the training module.
  • Disability Accommodations: To achieve the goal of “equal access,” the Learning Assistance Center and Disability Services (LAC-DS) staff works with students, faculty, and staff to implement services and accommodations that are in accordance with both state and federal laws and our own commitment to this goal. To learn more about disability accommodations, in addition to other academic support resources available to all students, please visit the LAC-DS website.
  • Immunization Forms (past due): If you have not yet submitted the required Health Information and Immunization Form, you must complete this requirement immediately as it was due on Thursday, July 1st.  The form can be downloaded at http://shs.wfu.edu/forms/.  Either scan and email your completed form and documentation to shs@wfu.edu or mail it to the address listed on the form.
  • Parking: You can begin registering vehicles for parking.  For more information, consult the following document.

We have a few resources and opportunities to share here.

  • Join Wake Choirs: There’s a place for every singer, from beginner to advanced, in Wake Choirs! Visit wakechoirs.com to learn and hear more and to sign up for your audition / hearing. Feel free to contact Dr. Gilliam for more information. Read this message from the director.
  • University Police: Our friends in University Police pulled together a handy presentation to share more information about their mission, their staff, and access to other helpful resources such as RAD, WakeAlert, and the Lost & Found.
  • WFU Post Office: Making this your home away from home also means having a new place to collect your mail.  Take a few moments to review the following details as you prepare to make your transition to campus!
  • “Record your name in NameCoach.”: We want to make sure that we pronounce your name correctly in the classrooms and labs, in the halls, and everywhere we meet you. Record your name, as you would like it spoken by professors and your new friends. Your recording will be provided to instructors on class rolls, to your academic advisers, and in the Internal Directory for members of the Wake community to hear. Record your name so we can get it right when we meet you. It’s easy. Just click HERE.  (Or, go into WIN>Personal>Personal Information>Record Your Name). Be sure to speak slowly and distinctly, especially if those you meet often have difficulty repeating your name.  We want you to hear your name spoken correctly. Once you have recorded, you are finished.  If you want to change your name recording, you can do so any time by following these same steps.  Take a minute and do it now. You can use your phone or your computer.  Click HERE to record your name.

Please be sure that you continue to check your WFU email, review Forestry 101, and the New Students website often throughout the summer to ensure that you are not missing important deadlines and details.
