Dear Wake Forest faculty, staff, and students,

After completing a national search, I am pleased to announce that Wake Forest has appointed Dr. Shea Kidd Brown as Vice President for Campus Life, effective January 1, 2022.

Dr. Kidd Brown currently serves as Associate Vice Chancellor and Dean of Students at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and is well known for her commitment to student care, belonging and success.

The Vice President for Campus Life is an incredibly important and influential role on a residential and highly relational campus like ours, and Dr. Kidd Brown is exceptionally well-qualified to both meet the needs of students and expand opportunities for engagement. She has a gift for connecting in meaningful ways with students and campus partners and is committed to ensuring all students can feel a sense of belonging and thrive here. Dr. Kidd Brown cares deeply about student development and wellbeing and will provide critical strategic and visionary leadership in the Campus Life division.

She has been recognized for her success in leadership development, student engagement, first-generation student programs, student retention, and advancing equity and inclusion.
