E-newsletter from the Office of Family Engagement

A belated Happy Valentine’s Day to all our Deac families! See how the Demon Deacon showed some love to our students on Valentine’s Day!

Mark your calendars for Family Weekend 2023: September 22-24! While the schedule for Family Weekend will not be finalized for some months, we know you may want to begin making travel plans. For planning purposes, the weekend typically begins with activities in the afternoon on Friday (September 22) and closes with a breakfast on Sunday (September 24) to allow families time to travel home before sundown.

You may wish to make your hotel reservations now. Keep in mind that there are also hotel options in neighboring cities of Greensboro and High Point, and many families also opt to secure lodging via Vrbo, Airbnb, etc.

More details about the Family Weekend schedule will be available closer to the summer. For now, mark your calendars and plan to join us for a great weekend!

Finally, we want to offer a warm welcome to our P’27 families (aka families in the Class of 2027), whose students were accepted during the Early Decision process and will begin at Wake Forest this fall. We are including you in this e-newsletter so you can begin to get a taste of how we connect with families, but please know you will get special communications starting in May with dates and deadlines pertaining to the Class of 2027. We look forward to getting to know you better over the next four years!

Go Deacs!

Incoming families of the Class of 2027

Welcome, P’27s (families of newly-admitted students in the Class of 2027)! This spring, we will be updating our New Students website for the Class of 2027. It should go live around May 1st. Please note that all the information on that website right now pertains to the Class of 2026, not your incoming students, so do not go by those dates, or complete any forms there. We will send all P’27 families an email around May 1st once the new site is ready.

We are including you in this e-newsletter so that you can begin to see the kinds of communications that Wake Forest families receive. Any information in this Incoming Families section of the e-newsletter pertains to P '27 families. But keep in mind that the details and deadlines in other sections of this e-newsletter only apply to currently-enrolled students (Classes of 2023-2026), not your incoming Deacs.

From the Center for Immigration Services and Support (ISS):

  • Welcome to the Class of 2027! The Center for Immigration Services & Support (ISS) will host a required new international student orientation. All new international students are required to attend Connect@Wake from Saturday, August 19, 2023 - Tuesday, August 22, 2023. Students of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Students can learn more about this year’s trips and sign up to participate.
  • It's that time of year again! The exhibit will be on display through Monday, March 6 on the second floor of Benson University Center. Students and community members can take a self guided tour during building hours, or request a guided tour.
